Breast Cancer Risk Factors

Breast cancer risk Factors - breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women. It accounts for approximately 1/4 th of all malignancies among women.

Risk factors of breast cancer are:-

  • a) Age - more common in females age > 40 yrs.
  • b) Sex- more common among female (99%) as compared to male ( 1%).
  • c) Obesity.
  • d) Physical inactivity.
  • e) Hormone replacement therapy.
  • f) Hereditary or genetic risk factors - BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation.
  • g) Radiation exposure.
  • h) Reproductive history - early menarche , late menopause , nulliparity.
  • i) Abscence of breast feeding.
